Generous Gyros: Authentic Turkish Doner and Iskender in Boca Raton

This place makes, in my opinion, the best doner in all of South Florida. I haven’t had a better one anywhere, not in Miami, not in Boca Raton, or anywhere else. As a true doner lover, I can confidently recommend everyone to try it here. Some people I know who’ve been here mentioned one thing they didn’t like, that the kitchen is closed, so the doner isn’t visible while it’s being prepared. But honestly, when it comes to taste, it doesn’t matter whether the kitchen is open or not. The flavor is absolutely outstanding. The only thing I would complain about is that they recently increased their prices. I think they should offer slightly more reasonable pricing. If you happen to get a plate with thinly sliced, leaf-style doner, you’ll literally want to lick your fingers — it’s that good.

A hidden gem in Boca. From the outside, this looks like another regular business… enter the door and you’re welcomed with a relaxed, elegant atmosphere, friendly and accommodating staff, and DELICIOUSLY seasoned food. I came here for lunch (great lunch menu!!) and was absolutely blown away. The food is exceptional. The elevated ambiance makes you feel like you’re at the swankiest establishment in NYC. The staff is fabulous. Can’t get over the flavors!!! Yummy is an understatement. Come and taste for yourself!!

If I could give 4.5 stars for food, I would. This is a beautifully decorated, quiet, classy, and elegant atmosphere. Generous Gyro is more than just another “Doner kebab place.” They serve fresh and healthy salads, delicious shawarma, and the hummus is as authentic as it gets. Staff is friendly and polite. The bathroom is clean, but doesn’t seem to match the level of quality as the restaurant. Give Generous Gyro a try and enjoy a tasty and wonderful, Turkish meal.

We visited Generous Gyro for the first time because we were missing döner — and it did not disappoint! We ordered the döner and iskender, and both were absolutely delicious. Every bite made us feel like we were back in Turkey. The portions were so generous — each plate came with salad, rice, tursu, and fries — and everything was cooked perfectly. It was so much food we couldn’t even finish it all! The flavors were authentic and the presentation was gorgeous. This place is truly a gem and easily the best in town. Highly recommend to anyone craving real Turkish flavors. We’re already looking forward to going back!

Don't let the name fool you—this isn’t a quick-serve gyro joint. GG Doner is a modern Turkish doner house with a refined lounge-style interior: velvet seating, a central chandelier, and full-wall Mediterranean projections. Owner Hawk, originally from Istanbul, brings serious polish to the space and the food. The star is the doner kebab—a seasoned blend of 80% beef and 20% lamb, slow-roasted on a vertical spit. It’s not sliced in view, but we were lucky enough to get a taste straight from the kitchen, fresh off the rotisserie and bursting with flavor. You can get it as a platter (with rice, fries, or salad), in a house-baked lavash wrap, or as Iskender over tomato-soaked bread with yogurt and grilled peppers. We got the Iskender and would absolutely order it again. We started with a meze platter featuring three standouts: Shakshuka (spicy eggplant and red pepper), Babaganoush (roasted eggplant with yogurt and mayo), Cacik (cool, herbed yogurt with cucumber). Also tried: Sigara böreği (crispy cheese-filled phyllo rolls), house fries, and a simple green salad. Didn’t try the desserts this time, but ended with a perfect Turkish coffee—strong, rich, and beautifully aromatic. Prices are reasonable, service is warm, and the food is outstanding. Easily one of the best Turkish meals we’ve had in South Florida. We’ll be back.

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. Generous Gyro just opened and we had such a nice meal. The food was flavorful and tasted homemade, not like generic run of the mill Gyro at all. The owners/staff cared very much about our experience and wanted to make us happy as possible. Would highly recommend this place as it was tasty, decorated nicely and the service was excellent. Don’t be afraid of Turkish food, you’ll like it.

The place is always clean and welcoming, and the owners, Mehmet and Burçin, are genuinely amazing people. Their hospitality alone makes you feel like you’re visiting friends, not just a restaurant. The service is excellent, the staff is friendly and attentive, and everything runs smoothly. But the real highlight here is the doner — honestly, it’s not just the best in Miami; it’s the best in all of Florida. Even compared to many places back in Turkey, their doner is on another level. Perfect flavor, perfect texture, perfectly seasoned. If you’re anywhere near Miami — or even if you’re not — this place is absolutely worth the trip. I highly recommend it to everyone!

I tried the Iskender Kebab and it was absolutely amazing — easily the best I’ve had outside of Turkey. The restaurant has a bright, clean, and inviting atmosphere with comfortable seating. Latin music playing in the background really enhanced the whole vibe. The meal came with a generous variety of side dishes, all of them fresh and delicious. The salad with pomegranate and a tangy vinaigrette was a standout. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Portion sizes were big, and the prices were more than fair. Highly recommended!
